St Austin's Choir
The Choir perform each week at the 11.00a.m. Mass on a Sunday morning at St. Austin's Church, Wakefield. In addition the choir can provide music for the main Christian celebrations. Several recitals are given throughout the year and in 2010 a Christmas Concert was introduced.. In 2012 the choir sang at St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican in Rome and the Pantheon in Central Rome. A further tour was undertaken in 2014 when the choir visited Paris singing in Notre Dame and three other magnificent churches. A follow-up tour was made to Rome in 2017, which included singing at Santa Maria Maggiore, St Paul outside the Walls and St Peter's.
The choir has now sung the Epiphany Mass at Leeds Cathedral for the past four years in what is becoming an annual event. Our repertoire encompasses music from the Renaissance era through to present day. There are up to 18 members at the moment, many of whom can also provide solos. New members are welcome to join. Rehearsals are held on Sunday evenings at 7.45p.m. There is no audition but the ability to sing in parts would be helpful.

The highlight of your wedding is the service itself. What better way to complete your service than have a choir singing beautiful music to welcome your guests and to complement the service itself. If you are interested in hiring the choir to sing at your wedding we can provide you with samples of appropriate music and details of previous services to give you some musical ideas. If you know what music you want we are more than willing to try and accommodate your choices. We can also usually provide you with an organist
